My Wardrobe DiaryWe had some glorious spring weather this week. I felt like I could finally start moving away from all those winter layers to lighter fabrics and fresher colours. Although in classic British style, the weather can still be entirely unpredictable, so I’ve kept some good jumpers within reach just in case.
The Floral Dress

- Wild Meadow Floral Print Overlay Dress
- AM-PM Leather Jacket
This dress is all about the detail on top: a frill collar, keyhole neckline, pleating. It’s perfect for important work conference calls because it looks so smart on camera, but the skirt doesn’t feel at all restrictive, so I can sit in it, do bits and pieces around the house, go on a dog walk and feel comfortable. It’s midi length which means it works with trainers and the hem won’t get dirty. A leather jacket adds a masculine edge to tone down the feminine floral print.
The Trans-seasonal Jumpsuit

- Feminine Cargo Jumpsuit

- Fluid Denim Wide-Leg Jumpsuit
A jumpsuit is the perfect trans-seasonal piece. At the moment I’m layering tees underneath for the added warmth, but as summer arrives I can skip this step. What’s great is that there’s no planning necessary with a jumpsuit – you can just throw it on in the morning and you’re sorted for the rest of the day. The shirt-inspired design on top is smart for video calls, but the legs are relaxed for ease.
The Perfect Trouser

- Cotton Frill Cuff Blouse
- Tencel Casual Cargo Trouser
This trouser is made from the softest fabric imaginable, so it’s just incredibly comfortable for wearing around the house. I’m 5’6”, so it stops just at my ankle which is a great length for now – it means I can just slip on my trainers to take the dogs for a walk without worrying about my hems dragging along the ground. I dressed it up for those aforementioned video calls with a lightweight cotton blouse, layering up with a light cashmere knit when I got a bit chilly.
"I’m honing my skills to find looks that go from work meeting to kitchen, back to work, then out for a walk"
The All-Day Dress

- Cotton Gold Trim Camo Jacket
- Leaf Print Double Layer Dress
The top half of this dress has pretty sleeves, long enough to give you that extra bit of coverage on the arm, and a removable necktie that makes you look and feel very polished, especially when you’re on a video call. But the A-line shape is so relaxed and airy so that’s super comfortable for sitting in all day. I threw on my camo jacket for a cool print clash when I went for my walk.
The Slip Dress

- Silk Leaf Print Bias Cut Dress
- Basket Weave Cotton Jumper
This silk slip dress is a great work-to-walk-to-date-night solution. With a chunky knit layered over the top and white trainers, it feels more casual and relaxed for day, then you can delayer to show off the lace trim detailing along the neck if you have virtual drinks with friends scheduled in.
The Cropped Cardi

- Pleat Detail Lounge Jogger
The fabric of this cardigan is sublime – it’s supersoft cotton, so doesn’t feel too heavy for spring. For the weekend, I layered it over Lace Trim Layering Vest and teamed with our Pleat Detail Lounge Jogger for a look that feels as comfortable as it looks.
